Why Support MYVI
MYVI is a Myanmar-registered charity that has been operating hospitality training courses for the last 10 years. We are a not-for-profit organisation founded to give disadvantaged Myanmar youth — many of them orphaned, displaced, or living in conflict-affected areas — an opportunity to find employment within the hospitality industry.
We have trained more than 500 students since opening our first training restaurant in Bagan in 2015. Our graduates work in hotels, restaurants and resorts across Myanmar, and increasingly in Singapore and Thailand.
We rely on donor support to keep this work going. All foreign advisors serve as volunteers, and local staff are paid at Myanmar rates — meaning the cost of training a student is genuinely modest, and every dollar donated goes directly to student outcomes.
Whether you are an individual, a Rotary Club, an INGO, or a corporate supporter — we can only offer scholarships if we get your support. Please consider donating.

Sponsorship Options
There are three main ways to support MYVI:
- Sponsor a Student — a recurring monthly donation that funds individual students through their basic hospitality training (Cert I and II level).
- Sponsor an Advanced Student — a one-off or annual donation that funds a single student through a longer accredited course (Cert III, Cert IV or Diploma).
- Capital and Corporate Partnerships — larger contributions that fund buildings, infrastructure, equipment, or institution-level partnerships.
Details of each are set out below. To discuss a contribution outside of these structures, please contact us at jon@myvi.education.
Per Student Funding
Sponsor a Student — From USD $40 a month
MYVI’s aim is to find donors for our students. Most students cannot afford fees on their own, and your monthly support is what makes scholarships possible.
Just USD $40 a month (USD $480 a year) covers the full cost of one student to complete a 45-day course in basic cooking, front of house, and housekeeping — enough training to make them job-ready in Myanmar’s hospitality industry.
Want to do more? Each additional USD $40 a month sponsors another student:
| Monthly | Annual | Students sponsored |
| USD $40 | USD $480 | 1 student |
| USD $80 | USD $960 | 2 students |
| USD $120 | USD $1,440 | 3 students |
| USD $160 | USD $1,920 | 4 students |
| USD $200 | USD $2,400 | 5 students |
| USD $400 | USD $4,800 | 10 students |
Sponsor an Advanced Student — USD $900
For donors who want to fund a student through a longer, accredited qualification — Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma in Hospitality — a contribution of USD $900 covers the full cost of a single student through their course.
These are the students who go on to supervisory roles, leadership positions, and overseas employment in Singapore, Thailand, and beyond. Available as either:
- One-off donation of USD $900, or
- Annual recurring donation of USD $900 per year (sponsoring a new advanced student each year)
Sponsorship covers training, course materials, meals, and accommodation where provided. 100% of donations go to student costs — all foreign advisors are volunteers, and local staff are paid at Myanmar rates.
Capital Projects
Private donors have contributed more than USD $600,000 to MYVI’s buildings and infrastructure to date — funding the original training restaurant in Bagan, classrooms and kitchens at Pyin Oo Lwin and Mandalay, and the establishment of facilities at Char Thar Kon.
Capital contributions go directly into expanding capacity: more classrooms, more training kitchens, more accommodation, and more campuses in regional areas where vocational training is most needed.

Corporate Partnerships
MYVI partners with hotel chains, restaurant groups, and corporate supporters across Myanmar and the Asia-Pacific region. Partnerships range from internship and graduate placement arrangements through to sponsored scholarships and named training facilities.
