A Brief History
Sanon Training restaurant was first opened in 2016 in Bagan, central Myanmar as a not-for-profit social enterprise.
The premises were redeveloped into a 120-seat restaurant with a commercial training kitchen shipped from Melbourne.
Tourism continued to grow, and we operated the restaurant successfully in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Up to 2019 our successfully trained students had a 98% employment success rate. The restaurant from a profit and loss perspective was 90% self-sufficient from tourist income.
The restaurant and training centre was then closed for two years during the covid pandemic.
We now operate Sanon as a hospitality training institute, Bagan (Sanon).
